Jay is an orthopedic surgeon in Denton. As a parent of an adult with special needs Jay and his wife advocate for those with disabilities. They look forward to building a program centered on dignity, love and growth. |

DAVID MELTZER
TREASURER
David retired in September 2016 after 43 years of working in Hospital Administration & Finance. David's work was primarily focused on individual Hospitals as well as Group/Division rolls overseeing multiple Hospitals. The CFO role includes budgeting, operation and reporting to all levels of the organization. In addition he provided oversight to numerous Hospital departments and their staff.

AMBER CALDWELL, MSC
BOARD SECRETARY
Amber brings over 15 years of non-profit leadership experience in health and health policy to The Center. Partnership development, grants(wo)manship and organizational development are some of the many talents that Amber adds to the leadership team. Amber is passionate about advocacy for special needs and shifting policy to enhance the services and programs available in Texas. Amber leads the Board of Directors, Clinical Experts and Advisory Board as well as directs the staff team.

ZACHARY JONES, MD
Dr. Jones is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist, Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and a North Dallas native. After graduating from Plano East Senior High in 2001, he completed a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Texas at Austin and then received his Medical Doctorate from The University of Texas at Houston. After medical training, he moved to Frisco, TX in 2014 to begin his practice and start a family. He is married to Glynna Jones and has two sons, ages 3 and 4 named Austin and Travis. He was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott in 2020 to serve on the District Two Review Committee under the Texas Medical Board. He is a Longhorn football fan and a Texas BBQ connoisseur.

SCOOTER GIERISCH
Mayor Scooter Gierisch in May 2021 was reelected with over 90% of the votes to extend a 3-year term as the Mayor of Roanoke. He was first elected to City Council in 1995 and has served as Mayor since 2005.

As the Mother of our Founding Member Mr. Duncan Bender Risa is committed to the success of The Center in providing care for the most vulnerable. She has a passion for photography and travel and is the co-Founder of The Center along with her husband Dr. Jay Bender.

Dr. Monica Boyd
Dr. Boyd is a true southern girl from Shreveport, La. She graduated from Southern University with a degree in Biology, and continued her education at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences earning a Doctorate of Pharmacy. She enjoys spending time with her husband MB and her lovely kids Faith and Naomi and volunteers her time to advise The Center on the medication needs of our Members. She serves as a resource for parents and provides staff training for medication administration and management. She owns and operates Compass Pharmacy located in Fort Worth, TX
